Cost: Free for Radiant Shenti Members. No need to register. $36 for Non-members.

Introduction to Chinese Medicine Drum Healing, the shamanic journey beat, and the five element rhythms.

Course Description:

The universe consists of various vibrations which can be transmitted through drumming. Indigenous cultures worldwide have found great healing power in the drum, utilizing it in numerous ways from personally connecting to the spirit realm to transforming disease. Chinese shamans have tapped into the drum’s transformative potential for thousands of years. Drumbeats enable trance-like states for shamans to connect with the spirit world and affect physiological change in themselves and in patients.

In this two-hour fun and engaging class, CT Holman teaches Chinese medicine drumming to treat a variety of physical and emotions imbalances. These easy to learn drum rhythms relate to the five elements. CT will demonstrate each rhythm and explain how they can be used to treat disease patterns. These effective techniques bring powerful transformation.

Participants will be able to begin applying these methods in their practice by the completion of the two-hour course.

Objectives:

1. Understand how to use the drum to treat pathology.
2. Learn the five-element drum rhythms.
3. Learn how to create specific Chinese medicine drum treatments based on your disease pattern.

CT Holman, a clinician with over 20 years of practice, teaches internationally and authored two textbooks, Treating Emotional Trauma with Chinese Medicine and Shamanism in Chinese Medicine. To emphasize the effectiveness of music in medical treatments, he recorded and produced a CD/MP3 titled Resonating Vitality – Chinese Medicine Drum Treatments.

CT trained in China three times, teaches at the Oregon College of Chinese Medicine for its doctoral program, maintains the position as the Director of Development for the Lotus Institute of Lillian Bridges, conducts a mentoring program, and has several video courses available on his website: www.redwoodspring.com.
