Joint Pain

  • Upper joint pain (tennis elbow, frozen shoulder)
    • LI-11 (Qu chi) treats pain and motor impairment of the upper extremities. Reduces redness and heat of the body.
      • Feel for the tender reaction point. May have to go down to the bone.
    • SJ-10 (Tian jing) treats migraine pain in the neck, shoulder, and arm. Helps when your elbow is sore in the back.
    • LI-4 (He gu) Stop pain point. Treats pain, weakness, and motor impairment of the upper limbs. Good for general aches and pains.
    • Massage for 5-10 minutes with hot cream or essential oils.
  • Knee pain
    • GB-34 (Yang ling quan) treats weakness, numbness, and pain of lower extremities, swelling, and pain of the knee.
      • Below the head of the bone towards the front
    • ST-36 (Zu san li) treats indigestion, dizziness, aching knee, and tibia.
    • EX-LE5 (Xi yan or neixiyan)
    • Massaging these points will help strengthen your knees for hiking and walking.

 

Skin Rashes and Itching

  • SP-10 (Xue hai – sea of the blood) 4 cun (3 fingers) above the kneecap treats eczema, rash, uterine bleeding, pain in the thighs. Cools your blood. Drink chrysanthemum tea for rashes and itchiness, even for mosquito bites.
    • Massage for 10 minutes and then you can put frozen peas on the point
    • Can massage with essential oil
  • Ear Points – experiment to see which one helps reduce your itching
    • Upside down body in the ear
    • Spleen 10 point in the ear
    • Ear Lung point – treats skin diseases and nourishes the skin.
    • Ear Sanjiao point – stops itching. One is the top are, the “stop itching area”
    • Mung bean skin at pharmacy will help reduce allergy symptoms. Anti-inflammation. Sends signals to calm the sympathetic nervous system and activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
