Yellow River Dance Lesson 3
Yellow River Dance Lesson 3. The Yellow River Dance borrows the movements of several animals, such a Big Roc (a large mythological bird), common bird swallows, a lion, a peacock, and even a goldfish.
The form also borrows from the feeling and movement of wind through the willows and the dancing of butterflies. Early Taoist masters knew the importance of connecting to nature, even in a very visceral, mimicking manner. In doing so, we learn to entrain ourselves to nature’s rhythms, movements, and patterns.
