Series three, Yi Qi Kung, was developed to address ongoing health problems stemming from respiratory and cardiovascular weakness. Research at the time showed a strong correlation between healthy lungs (the Lord of Gas – O2 and CO2) and kidneys (the Root of Gas) and heart health. Through reverse abdominal breathing on its own and the same type of breath synchronized with movement, researchers found significant improvements in both the lungs and heart.
