Qigong for Burnout | Recovery Phase – Lesson One
Burnout recovery qigong helps you work at just the right level. The main concept for today is “Don’t Push.” James Saper teachers that the body needs an opportunity to build up reserves. Pushing is what will cause a person to fall back into a state of burnout. While you have things you must do, don’t push means to try not to add to pressures you must face. Often additional pressure comes from judging a situation, or adding an emotional charge to an already difficult situation. The ideal is to do these lessons once a day, or every other day for 1 week.
Four simple sitting exercises comprise the first lesson of the recovery phase of burnout. The goal is to restore the reserves of the body and stabilize the emotions so you don’t fall back. Burnout happens to people for many reasons, from overwork, emotional stresses, to various illnesses.
The one thing in common is that it’s very easy to overextend and fall back into a burnt out state. This means the qi and the blood, and the yin and the yang, are weak. This weakness makes it easy to fall back. Therefore the goals is to strengthen and stabilize the qi and blood, and yin and yang balance.
