Yoga and Mudras to Transmute Sadness & Depression. To transmute means to change something completely into something different and better. While the sadness and depression may stay with you, their role and effect in your life will take on a quality of growth. They will be different and better.
Today Mary will help you keep your attention focused on the body through movements and yoga mudras to the transmute sadness and depression that come with grief and loss. Mudras are hand gestures that direct energy in the body in very specific ways. They can have quite a profound effect on all five body levels, or koshas. You will do some standing and sitting poses.
Think of emotions as energy in motion. We are always in state of flux. Everything is always moving, so if you come out of balance, how do you get back into balance? Mary will help you work with three main tools, physical body, awareness, and breath. In Mary’s three lessons, you will use yoga and mudras to move through and grow through grief.
