Meaning and Purpose
Brahma Mudra, the Gesture of the Creator, awakens inner energy and promotes vitality, confidence, and strength. It expands the lungs, opens the chest, and supports clear, powerful breathing. Practicing this mudra revitalizes the body’s energy centers, reduces fatigue, and strengthens focus.
This page includes a guided video and meditation with Dr. Juli Kramer. Through breathwork and mindful awareness, you’ll learn to harness your life force, increase circulation, and feel both grounded and uplifted.
Yoga Journal notes that coordinated breath and mudra practice can boost vitality and mental clarity while calming the nervous system.
How to Practice Brahma Mudra
- Sit comfortably with your spine long and relaxed shoulders.
- Curl your fingers inward so that the thumbs rest on the base of the little fingers.
- Bring the knuckles of both hands together at the level of the solar plexus.
- Inhale deeply, lifting through the chest; exhale slowly, feeling steady and alert.
- Keep your gaze soft and focused at the heart center.
Practice for 10–15 minutes, or follow the full guided meditation to awaken natural energy and balance inner strength.
Healing Focus and Benefits
Brahma Mudra increases pranic energy throughout the body, enhances lung capacity, and sharpens concentration. It helps reduce fatigue, promotes balance between mental focus and physical calm, and restores vitality to the nervous system. Energetically, it inspires confidence, courage, and a renewed zest for life.
The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health affirms that yoga and breath-focused practices improve energy, mood, and overall well-being.
