Mahashirsha Mudra, the Great Head Gesture, is one of the most effective mudras for headache relief and relaxation. This gentle hand position helps release pressure, reduce migraines, and calm the mind. It clears energy congestion in the head, neck, and shoulders, easing both physical pain and mental fatigue.

How to Practice Mahashirsha Mudra

  1. Sit comfortably with your spine upright and shoulders soft.
  2. Bring the tips of the thumb, index, and middle fingers together.
  3. Place the ring finger at the base of the thumb; let the little finger stay extended.
  4. Rest your hands on your thighs, palms upward.
  5. Inhale slowly through your nose, softening the face and jaw; exhale and imagine tension melting away from the temples and scalp.

Hold the mudra for 10–15 minutes, or follow the full guided video. As you breathe, you may feel gentle warmth in the head or a wave of calm spreading through the shoulders—signs that prana is moving freely again.
