Moxibustion for Spring
During the spring, using moxibustion is a great way to raise and remove yang heat from your body. Your healthcare practitioner might prescribe specific patterns to heal different imbalances.
Dr. Hou recommends five general points for moxibustion to boost vitality and immunity in the spring.

In the springtime, everything is growing and is raising, and your body yang qi is raising. Your body yang qi is raising, and when you use moxa, you push your yang qi raising and make you…Your yang qi is raising and goes to the surface of your body to protect yourself. That’s called wei qi (defensive qi), so it’s good for your immune system and moves your circulation and makes you feel better. (The remainder of the video is described in the patterns below.)

Male pattern
Right arm first, then left arm. Make 7 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 63 circles).
Female pattern
Left arm first, then right arm. Make 7 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 63 circles).
Triple Burner or Sanjiao 4
Male pattern
Right wrist first, then left wrist, clockwise. Make 7 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 63 circles).
Female pattern
Left wrist first, then right wrist. Make 7 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 63 circles).
Ren/Conception Vessel 3, 4, 6, & 8
Male and female
Make 6 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 54 circles).
Stomach 36
Male pattern
Left leg first then right leg. Make 5 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 45 circles).
Female pattern
Right leg first then left leg. Make 5 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 45 circles).
Spleen 6
Male pattern
Left leg first then right leg. Make 5 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 45 circles).

Left ankle/foot first then right ankle/foot. Make 6 circles clockwise 9 times (for a total of 54 circles).
